Are you serious? Llorente is one of the most overrated players in Europe. He's a decent target man, with above average ability, but he's nothing special. Some of the prices quoted that clubs may buy him for are bordering on insanity.

His goal tally is just ok (79 goals in 246 appearances for Bilbao since 2005) but that doesn't make him a top class striker by any means He has a good aerial ability but in my opinion he is nothing more than a Spanish Peter Crouch with less lankiness

Although im not changing my opinion on him as a player, I guess a freebie is not really a gamble. We can then flog him if he flops

Will you be able to afford his wages though? His wage demands will be high and he's 28 years old. He's also been frozen out of the squad since he decided to not extend his contract with Bilbao, so the lack of game time may affect him for a while.

I don't think he's a terrible player, but I just don't see what the hype is around him. He's obviously got good aerial ability and he's strong, an okay shot on him for a big guy, but he's easy to tackle and he does lose the ball a lot from what I've seen of him. He'd be a good back up option to have, but for the wages he's demanding and for his general ability, he's not worth it. Honestly I just see him as a slightly better Andy Carroll. He's not good enough for the higher echelon of clubs in the Premier League IMO.

seen as you are the one that preaches to me all the time chronic about how hard it is to get tansfers done. Maybe Negredo is the best striker we can currently go for and is the most realistic option? I for one would be delighted if we got Negredo. He's not 28, he's 27 and has a very good goal scoring record and international experience. I say if he is the best option available then go for him.

yes but don the problem is that if buying negredo now stops us buying a top main target in summer due to lack of funds.....

at spurs we have to get this striker issue solved once and for all. we must not panic just cos ade went to the ACON. ade has been unavailable for a long time this season and we have coped.

i am pro bringing in a striker, but if he's not the main man for years then he HAS to be a cheap option so as to not jeapodise us getting that main man in in the summer.
