and his impending exit? or just over zealous reporting?
Wow what 6 months can do, the summer of love Brendan Rogers installed as manager the Turkish stalwart Nuri Sahin turned down The Emirates in favour of the tradition and glory days of Anfield and its faithful support.
The mood was great, the optimism was at fever pitch and expectation of such a talented player, a Bundesliga player of the year no less and a current Real Madrid loanee on the books at Liverpool.
How quickly things change with Liverpool set to cut short his loan deal and a deal to return to Dortmund till the end of the season all but 99% complete. What will surprise most are these accusations against manger Rodgers and most bizarrely club legend Steven Gerrard.
A report in Sportsbild europes biggest sports magazine has been quoted as saying;
"The 24 year old has been betrayed by Liverpool because coach Brendan Rodgers lied to him when he signed, telling him that he would be the clubs number six"
The report goes on to say;
"Steven Gerrard is said to have also been jealous of Sahin, and when they played together Sahin hardly got the ball".
Well some pretty outrageous accusations it must be noted. My main thought centred on the 'jealousy' slur, the living legend that is Gerrard how could he be jealous of a fellow player. Crazy.
Truth behind Sahin

The only truth is Sahin cant keep up with the tempo of english football and thus doesnt make the team
We can afford to carry passengers. People wanted Gerrard dropped because he wasnt tracking back and pressing in midfield. Who the feck is Sahin

Why would Gerrard be jealous? Sahin's struggling with speed and physical side of the premier league.

Yeah sure! The CL, FA Cup, league cup, UEFA cup, charity sheild winning, multi millionaire, Liverpool and England captain is jealous of Sahin!?!

Unless Sahin is packing some serious sausage.

He has not played since he had a moan in the press. I like that.

If those quotes have basis in reality then it's just really pathetic!
Jealous? You can actually see how much Gerrard enjoys playing with the top class talent we've had at Liverpool over the years - he was pretty much on the same wavelength as Owen, Torres, Alonso, Suarez.
If Sahin didn't get the ball it's more likely that his team mates didn't trust him with it!

Sahin got the ball when he played, however for me the problem with him is that he seemed to think the manager told him to play as a second striker. Perhaps he was asked to play the more advanced role as Allen was playing the defensive role and Gerrard the passing role, which perhaps Sahin thought he should be playing. Perhaps it was Sahin in fact jealous of that. It's the only logical thing to take from this story otherwise it's just ridiculous.

If Sahin is upset that our main playmaker was given the ball more than him then he can go back to real tomorrow.
It's a team game.

Oh dear.
Let’s assume the Press isn’t just making this up.
First of all, if a manager promises you a first-team slot (assuming it’s true that he did make such a promise to a one-season loanee), there is always an implied caveat (“provided you’re not crap&rdquo. If you break that caveat, it doesn’t mean the manager “lied”.
On the subject of Gerrard’s jealousy, I gather he was also jealous of Diouf, the stellar footballing superstar and Renaissance Man.
Gerrard never comments on any of this kind of gossip, it’s always other people talking about him. But it seems that it’s Gerrard who has the constant struggle with the green-eyed monster.
I heard he used to sneak around to Biscan’s house and let his tyres down every night.
