That Tottenham are not a massive club anymore ?
we were not very good when i first went and had only just been promoted back up to top division a yr or so before so hardly a glory hunter
my first game though saw me standing with 51000 others as we beat Birmingham City 3-1 in the FACUP 5th round .. Hoddle scoring two and Gerry Armstrong the other and the whole day just blew me away
well we all know that in the next 5 yrs we won the FA CUP twice and the UEFA cup and challenged for the title, got too European semi finals and league cup final
we were always one of the top clubs to watch and one of the clubs they always called the BIG 5.. Man Utd, Liverpool< Arsenal, Everton & Tottenham
The support was massive and world wide and still is today, i wonder how many other teams would still have such a huge fan base after 25 odd yrs of mediocrity ?
So i guess when we all talk about signings etc i think we should be going for the best and challenging at the top because for me Totenham Hotspur are the best Biggest club in the world
Whenever anyone asks me who i support i always say with great pride.. Tottenham Hotspur and expect them to know we are massive and famous club but the young people of today just want to support the team at the top
I know you younger fans have not really seen any glory days so you believe we are smaller than the likes of Chelsea and man City but if Chelsea had 25 yrs in the wilderness like we have then they would be back to having a fan base they had before, thats not a pop at them just facts. For our famous club to still be so well supported after all these yrs of winning next to nothing is a testament to how huge we really are
I do except we are not able to compete with clubs who dont have to account for their spending but that does not make us any smaller and as a fan for the first time in many yrs i see us in a position to really push on and achieve some glory, which is winning trophys not finishing 4th
so if im on here saying we should be spending some serious money now its because i know how big we really are and how huge we can become

Neither have the world wide support we do and are both 2 club citys so of course have massive local support, How much support do you think tottenham would have if only 2 big clubs in london

spurs do have world wide support but not on the same level as the sky 4 - who were successful at the time the global market started watching the prem league all the time.

Weare a nice message.
I do think a lot of the big clubs would still have the same support after years of mediocrity. On that note I would like to wish the Liverpool fans luck.

Chronic.. Chelseas support is not a real fan base, its based on them winning things in recent yrs, they use to have the same support levels as Westham , good but nowhere near tottenhams and Arsenals

Chronic.. no they dont, most of these people buy fake shirts so money does not go to chelsea, yes some does but nowhere near as much as you think

weare.. i lose count of the number of japanese tourists i see wondering around at kings cross and the other big underground stations with massive official chelsea shopping bags having just gone to the shop to buy all the gear.
then you watch a chaaav game and every single shot of the crowd you will see some japanese tourists with their camera out.
you get this at the lane a bit nowadays too tbh.
i don't have anything against them, but they are as plastic as it comes.
