Morning all, Chelsea fan here
just seen in the gossip about Palacios apparently closing in on a move to QPR, got me wondering what the hell has happened to this player?
the guy was quality at Wigan, so good that i actually remember being actually jealous when Spurs signed him. his form seemed to confirm this, there was that MOTM display against the Gooners in about his third appearance-he formed himself as an integral part of a Spurs side that battled their way into the Champions League and beyond. he was a rock in the CL campaign as well, dominated Milan in the San Siro
thought he'd be a great signing for Stoke but it hasn't gone his way. okay, injuries haven't helped but you don't become a bad player overnight. how did he go from key performer on a high flying Spurs side to Stoke reject?

i think you probably were mate. He played alongside Modric who has a far better passing ability. Also the emergence of Sandro pushed him down the pecking order a bit. But he did put in some excellent performances including in the 1-0 win in Milan

palmers, do you think 'Arry could re-ignite Palacios' career at QPR?
'Arry does seem determined to turn his QPR team into his old Spurs one, he wants palacios and Gallas-he'll be after Modric next

yes he could but it was also under harry that palacios' career stagnated. I'n not sure how highly Harry rates him but for a weak team like qpr i'm sure Palacios could do a job

I never really saw him at Wigan but for us he was generally poor despite a good start. His passing was poor and I remember one game where he got a few boos for a misplaced pass.
If this was all to do with the death of his brother then he must have been exceptionally close to him.

For me it was the way we changed our style. We had injuries and this forced us to play Huddlestone and Modric in the centre, after this we bought VDV and they were the most wonderful midfield trio in possession. Palacious could never compete with that standard.
