(sorry the links don't work)
I hope that none of them get away with it.
But no doubt they'll just resign and get a slap on the wrist.
I think the sport has been corrupt for years, and the self-interests of the top of the tree have hampered and destroyed any integrity that might have existed.
I hope they are found guilty and FIFA is taken apart and restarted from scratch.
The last two World Cup confirmations should also be investigated and if any bungs or wrongdoing found then the process should be redone at cost to FIFA as an organisation - fairly and transparently.

Really the chocolate one star bandit made the migration too? I am really honoured by the appointment of his star upon my article.
Of course it deserved such an accolade. Who am I am to question the board at FIFA eh?

I'm not so sure there's any "if" about it to be honest Spherical - the Qatar bid was always as dodgy as hell and the Russians had Abramovich representing them! I think it's fairly safe to say that money changed hands in the bidding process and that both Blatter and Bin Hammam knew about it.
The whole system needs badly changing anyway - how can so much power over the world's biggest sport be wielded by just 24 suits who know little or nothing about the game? The whole setup just invites corruption and now its come to light we've got a real glimpse at how these guys operate. They've all turned on each other in a flash in a bid to save their own position and all the cushy perks which come with it. Hardly inspires confidence that they've got the good of football at heart does it?
The whole thing needs changing from top to bottom - hopefully if this spells the end of Blatter (how a man who is universally despised and ridiculed has held the top job at FIFA so long is in itself indicative of the organisation's failings) we can get someone in who'll put reforms into action.

This is Madness -
It's all about alleged corruption really, as otherwise this might be construed as fact and therefore be libellious. I wouldn't want to stain the reputation of a fine website that is just getting on it's feet.
Blatter the Gaddafi of FIFA?
I wrote an article something long the lines of...

Spherical - the corruption is indeed, of course, only alleged; I was being a bit mischievous by exploiting the freedom of this site to voice an opinion that would never have been permitted on the beeb. In retrospect I may have changed some of that as I'm actually a trainee journalist! Rather like the Ryan Giggs situation though, everyone knows what's going on with FIFA but no one's allowed to say it. Either way, it's fast getting to the point where, no matter what the FIFA ethics committee find, the organisation's become so tainted that there's no way back for those at the top.

Well if others go down under the watch of Blatter he forget getting the presidency, if evidence shows known complicity then everyone is a winner!
I wonder whether a revote might happen for 2018, but I suspect it unlikely.

Is it the FIFA Ethics commitee that's investigating this. If so, how can we be sure they're not corrupt as well?

Completely agree
It's been corrupt since forever, it's nothing knew. There is a list as long as your arm of instances where the football federations have been fixing things - World Cup votes, World Cup games, etc, going back years and years, and UEFA and the Champions League are the same. The world is run by money and greed.
You're right, it should be started from scratch.
