Pakistan Test Squad For RSA...

Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Mohammad Hafeez, Nasir Jamshed, Azhar Ali, Umar Gul, Asad Shafiq, Younis Khan, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Irfan, Ehsan Adil, Saeed Ajmal, Adbur Rehman, Haris Sohail, Faisal Iqbal, Taufeeq Umar, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk).

Adnan Akmal, Sami and Cheema have been dropped. Ehsan Adil who has impressed on the domestic scene has been picked, alongside Mohammad Irfan. Sarfraz Ahmed is the W/K, with no surprises that Nasir Jamshed has been selected for the Test side.

And, can I just say I just knew they would pick Faisal Iqbal for the Test side!
I'd sensed it and they've actually picked the talentless numpty.

Irfan is horrendously out of shape.

Saffas will smash him all over the park.

I really hope he doesnt play.

Keep him for 1 dayers/T20's

He doesnt have the stamina to bowl all day.

The biggest problem will be the batting.
Kiwis are being rolled over for nothing.
Really hope Pak put on a better fight.

Let's not get cocky Afridi. I still remember seeing us getting out for 70 odd against England in 2010 although Azhar Ali is the only survivor from that sham series.

GrandeLicha! (U9988)

U have been slightly pessimistic mate. This side is no pushovers and it will not surprise me 1 bit if Pakistan manages to win atleast 1 test in SouthAfrica.

Kash,

Didnt think I was getting cocky. Apologies if it comes across that way. Whilst Pakistan aren't as good as the top 2 test cricket nations, there really is a chalk and cheese difference between us and New Zealand. No disrespect intended to the kiwis

I fully expect Pakistan to give the Saffers a good series.

Pakistan till I die (U10140)

----------------------

Im not being pessimistic.
Im being realistic

I really want Pakistan to do well & do something historic (for a change) against the best Test Team in the world & in their back yard too.

It will be tough. The 1st day play will set the tone for not just the the series but the entire tour,

Apologies if i did come on across as Pessimistic. That was not my intention.

"Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan's Test vice captain, has urged the PCB to schedule more Test matches for the national team because he believes it is the format that helps produce quality cricketers. In the last five years, Pakistan have played 35 Tests, more than only Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. England, in comparison, played 63."

Really need to play more test matches otherwise it will damage Pak Test rankings status.
Pak have so much talent.

Grande, our problem is that no one will go to Pak of course but even in UAE from May to September due to the heat unless its Sri Lanka. Last year we had to cancel the test series with the Aussies cos they did not want to play in the heat so we cant schedule much unless we look elsewhere to host series:

- England dont want us again
- Sri Lanka did but then cancelled on us
- We dont get on with Bangladesh or India

What Pak need is a structure where they can play 10-12 Test matches a year.

Im pretty sure West Indies &/or New Zealand would be up for a test series.

Pak already played England & will tour England in 2016. (hopefully Amir will be back then)

Aussies owe us a Test series. Pak already played in Australia in 09-10 (disastrous tour)

Pak played Sri Lanka both in UAE & Sri Lanka

Pak India should resume Test Rivalry again.

If you look at this structure (hopefully it will make sense)

HOME Series
South Africa - played in 2010?
Australia - not played
England - played in 2012
India - not played
Sri Lanka - Played in 2011
West Indies - not played
New Zealand - not played
Bangladesh - not played

AWAY Series
South Africa - 2013
Australia - 2009-10
England - played in 2010 (next tour in 2016)
India - not played
Sri Lanka - Played in 2012
West Indies - 2011
New Zealand - 2011
Bangladesh - 2011-12

Need to play teams/series in cycle

Teams OWE Pak a test series whether in UAE or Pak or England. Whether its a 2 or 3 or 4 Test Match Series.
