This close season tells you everything you need to know about us bluenoses, we revel in adversity. We've sold more season tickets compared to this point last year yet, if you believe the media, we are doomed. We've already sold 3000 of the 3600 Derby allocation, but no-one can predict what the starting XI will be because the revolving doors will, supposedly, soon be spinning.

All the moaning and groaning of last season is replaced by an almost resigned acceptance to embrace the shadow of the team that only 5 months ago (yes, 5 MONTHS AGO) lifted the Carling Cup.

Joys and sorrows is what we are all about and irrespective of the public perception of Blues at the moment, I predict that Stans will be absolutely buzzing when we kick off our first home match this season
