No way for me. Certakn managers are suited to being at clubs with no massive expectation. Jackets, Curbishley etc.

Earlier this season Jackets was down near the bottom of the table. He rightly got no pressure. He would have at Leeds.

Rightly or wrongly we have big expectations. Half our fans didn't want Venables because he was a cockney for example!

I think we need to be looking at a Poyet or Di Canio. Even Lambert should he get the boot at Villa.

All 3 either have the personality, ability, proven success or have managed big expectations in their pkaying careers.

RDM - available and his teams pass the ball. Di canio would be interesting but, the guy is a timebomb... you know it's just matter of time before it all goes bananas... Off the scale on the risk front.

Whoever our next manager will be, he will have a daunting task, but what are the options.

1. If we try to get a younger up and coming manager, he will need to be shown that the club have the money and desire to spend it to allow him to build his own quality team, and one that can achieve promotion.
Without guaranteed financial backing, I doubt we will attract anybody of this stature, as it can only damage their reputation going forward. Di Matteo, Di Canio, Poyet, are all in this category, but they would see the current Leeds set up as a bridge too far.

2. A proven manager, and I don't mean a Warnock type who is only looking for personal glory, will also expect massive financial backing, and command a salary that we could not pay.
Not many around that fit this bill, that would come to Leeds whilst GFH who are unproven owners & with Bates who probably acts as a 'Football club consultant' and has an advisory control of things.

3. A manager who has been around for a while but is out of work and just needs a club to get them on the management ladder again with a 'Big Club'.
The fans will not accept this as a way forward, unless we are lucky enough to get a Premier manager who has just lost his. Paul Lambert, Nigel Adkins seem the most likely to be in this situation soon.

4. An overseas manager, in the mould of Laudrup.

If and when NW goes, the club needs to make sure that this time we get a manager who will :-

1 quickly improve the football, and then hopefully get the results
2 buy good players that can play as a team
3 increase the numbers of fans who want to support him and the team (point 1 will assist with this)

It's not going to be starightforward.
