The Weather 94 The Teams 2

Well Chaps, it seems the weather won for 94 minutes as opposed to the teams playing who only managed to score 2, one a piece.

Full credit to Town and Cherries for playing in demanding conditions with no serious injuries, and a word for the ref who tried hard to keep the peace in amongst sliding tackles and the tackles with the ball stuck firmly in the mud.

A thanks to, the ground staff came out at half time and worked hard to on pitch to try and make the second half playable, which means reduced fixture backlog for both sides.

Bornmuffs biggest crowd of the season, yet it hardly hits our average, oh to have Billionaire Russian owners, but one day they will want their money back I suspect. Eddie Howe has now broken their club record with an amazing run without defeat, somebody said its around 18 games, very credit worthy..

Canioman meanwhile is reported as very satisfied with our performance yesterday, even if Collins did miss an open goal, it happens. Next up, The Shrews at CG complete with the despicable Turner man. I hope Canioman makes him eat his words yet again after some of the dross he came out with last season about us. Benson is I'm told close to putting pen to paper for one of two clubs, my bet is he is waiting for some sort of contract pay off like Risser had..

I think the vote is unanimous then, shame Anfield and the new guy haven't been on for a while. On the old 606 we had London, Hilpertonian and of course the Gussett, sorry Bassett Gas, who was a gas, brilliant play on words etc. Mondy used to contribute as well. I'm going to see if Mondy and I can e mail whats on here and any replies he may have, that will be a laugh.

On the pure footie side of things, I can honestly say, hey guys we have a bit of a team out here. On a serious note the way we have played at home recently has had to be seen to be believed. Yes I know I have my reservations about Caniomans PR, but dare I say it, recently he has improved, and so has this team. The Town End sing, We are Swindon, and score when we want, and score when we want, We are Swindon we score when we want. And they are right, we seem to pick our moments in some games. I just hope you two could get down here and see a game. If you did it now this weekend, weather allowing, I know you would be back again before the end of the season, guaranteed. That is how much you would be impressed. Shame we haven't got room here as I'd put you up.

I think that I remember Mondy saying that he wasn't allowed on this site because he didn't have a UK email address. I wonder whether that is still the case. If it is, I'm sure that there is some way round it.
As for travelling down there, I could stay in Chipp with my Mum or brother - it's getting to Chipp that's the problem! Not easy on public transport from Leicester. I couldn't drive 4 miles to my unit this morning in this weather. I probably could have made it, but still don't trust the hip replacement in case I got into problems.

Red,
I was thinking of cutting and pasting via e-mail. As long as nothing inappropriate is said I don't see a problem.

I've been reading every one of your articles SF and all the comments too, but just never got involved with the discussions. Perhaps mainly due to the fact i'm a lot younger than you lot, and don't get the chance to go and watch The Town all too often.

I will, however, be off to see us at home to Shrewsbury this weekend, and away to Crawley in 2 weeks, so i can give you guys my opinion on the game if you'd welcome it. The Crawley game is on the box though. Typical that, my first away game of the season i decide i can get to, and it's on the telly!

Although it may feel like there isn't many of us here SF, your opinions and reports on Town are quite valuable to those like myself.

SS...please feel free to contribute to our discussions, your contributions would be very welcome. Two of us live at a distance and don't get to home games so all match reports are very valuable. As to age were are all old farts and a younger perspective would be good for us!

Don, I'll second that, very wholeheartedly. We need youngsters to teach us old pharts the new ways forward.

SS, you sound alright to me, and to Don, so thats unanimous then, well almost, so you'd better sit down and write an article then. If it doesn't come out right you can always explain afterwards, don't be afraid.
If you ever read Basset Gas and me having words on the old 606 well ??????!!!!!!!!! Talk about banter, play on words, toilet humour, well all that was a while back and I suppose I do miss the old git, mind he wasn't so old, but he was an accountant or something, so Red probably thinks he was an old git, Red is frequently doing his accounts, got a degree in double entry book keeping LOL.

SF, I echo your sentiments. But, my one man business needs the accounts being kept up to date. I hate doing it, but to leave it makes the chore worse. I use days of inclement weather & lack of work to do this, but then I am on the computer instead of spending 6 hours at the unit dyeing stuff.
But SS should post something, no matter how unimportant. Would give us a new thread to look at, insread of having to keep scrolling down.
I would put a new thread on myself, but don't have much to moan about at the moment footie wise.
I have time to think tho'.
But it's not all about football, any other problems can be addressed. My vegetable garden has improved from advice here - anyone want a slug & beer ice lolly?

Red, Glad to see my advice about Evans was worth taking up, Evans being the name of all the slugs in my garden. I suppose you could always repay the birds in your garden by feeding them frozen dead slugs, LOL.

SS, I'll have to dig up my old stfc email address so we can make contact before Saturday if you wish. I wouldn't make too many plans for travel etc just yet. The weather will come out to play this weekend and I can see rafts of games being called off
