Who are you talking to Egg? Nowhere on this article has anyone said anything about the first red of the game.

So what other decisons "cost them the game" this time? Always someone else's fault eh?

Again, who are you addressing? You seem to be asking me about something unrelated to me.

And what do we need the next picture for??? It shows - quite clearly that Wishere is already falling over while 1 metre away from the incident. We know that Kompany got the ball cleanly, and led with 1 foot.

We witnessed a top notch tackle. The sort we praised Bobby Moore - and even Tony Adams - for. We don't want to remove that from the game do we?

Doesn't matter. If Kompany jumps with both feet off the ground then the ref can deem it reckless and dangerous, thus a red.

And why do you need a picture anyway? I saw the game and highlights so have had a far more accurate view of the incident than a still will ever will

Use common sense - the law does not mean any tackle where player has 2 feet not in contact with the ground. Otherwise jumping straight up in the air while rolling the ball with the bottom of your foot would also be illegal.

The law means where both feet are aimed at the player and dangerous. Kompany's is pointing down and someway behind.

If you or I had pulled off that tackle we'd be chuffed to bits with it! Great tackle and ref only sent him off to a) level things up and b) cos of the home support roaring.

No, the law is if the ref deems it reckless and dangerous. It is a mistake to think it only means 2 footed challenges. The ref saw Kompany lunge in, with both feet off the floor, and deemed it dangerous. As soon as he sees both feet leave the floor Dean feels Kompany is out of control.

Nothing to do with my opinion (I have not stated any opinion with regards to the red card) or yours. It is what Dean sees, and he obviously saw a dangerous and reckless tackle.

If that was the case then he had opportunities before this aplenty to book City players and leave them on the edge.
