Still no Quality on or off the pitch !!

So midway through January and what can be said about our situation ?. New owners come in promising a bright new future and to keep the fans up to date with the day to day running of our club.

Sadly I am disappointed .

With no sign of any quality players coming in on permanent deals I get the feel that my analogy with Only Fools and Horses seems correct …. Del boy (Haigh) Rodney (Patel) and Bates uncle Arthur.

One has to wounder if the new owner will be worse then kb?

Or are they just waiting till the summer to back the manager?

Not too much quality to be had in the January transfer window. Such inflated prices. Unless a team actually wants rid of a player, be prepared to pay a lot more than actual value.

You do get a few bargains (Gradel, Woods) but again, these are players that were not wanted at their actual clubs.

Look at Becchio. If we sold him mid season, you'd be wanting £2-3 million for him, but that is inflated.

Especially if Warnock's position is under fire, which is most certainty is, then they won't want to spend over priced amounts when the chance of promotion has all but gone.

But it was not all but gone jan 1st was it?

Why not get woods in and back him then? Insted we get tin pot loans.

Even if nw gos, woods will still have been a good player to have?

Why let NW spend money on decent players, then play them out of position?

Because they will still be here when he has gone.

Woods would still be good if nw was not here

yes or no?

Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. We've not had an exciting transfer window for many a season and I suspect we won't for some time to come. Lets hope NW keeps us up and a new manager gets to work the oracle in the Summer.

I'd like to see more youth in the team, at least they'd have more pride than the current crop who seem happy to pick up wages in return for dismal performances.

It's a harsh introduction for GFH to club ownership although after six months' plus you'd think they'd have been prepared for it! They now need to rise to the challenge and show some strength planning for the next season.

With the right manager and a good infrastructure in place we an move this club forward. Revie did it with a blend of youth and experience, it's not rocket science after all.
