I really feel we're not short of having a team capable of challenging..
If the club got serious and done what it took to bring two very good players, it would be a massive step to challenging at the top again!
Ben Arfa - Β£17 Million
Wanyama - Β£14 Million
Capoue - Β£10 Million
Diame - Β£3.5 Million
Those values are rough guesses but I reckon close enough..
Ben Arfa and one of those midfielders would do nicely!
Two short from a competitive team

Wenger will never spend 17m on Ben Arfa. Love him as a player but we all know he'd offer 8m max and then get laughed at.

Wanyama is one of the best Celtic have had for a while! Very good at reading the game ( be it the scottish league) but also strong in the tackle - something we don't have. Lot of celtic fans rate him around the £25 million mark but couldn't see that much being spent on him.

Well that's out problem in a nutshell for years, putting together a good team but have a poor squad lacking quality in depth. I'm saying we should be spending like City and Chelsea but we should have a core squad of 20-24 players realistically capable of playing at the highest level and to be honest once we strip the squad back of the deadwood we are a lot more than 2 players short IMO

That is assuming that we're the only ones that bid, which we won't be. Wanyama's performanc have won him plaudits and the likes of United are after him too.
Arsenal or Manchester United.....no way!

I forgot to add the "not" in front of spending lol

I have said it before that I have watched every game that Wanyama has played for Kenya and he has never really done anything that caught the eye. The only game he impressed was against Barca and paying 25m because of one game is absurd!

This is what I'm afraid of. It's like us signing a Bradford defender because they raised their game against the big sides (compared to them), we need proven quality

Wanyama is quality. Celtic play dross week in week out, so it's hard to stand out. But Wanyama showed his quality against the best side in the world, twice.
No point talking about it though. He's not coming to us, even if Wenger was interested.

To be fair, I've watched him a good few times and can't really say anything negative. Interesting to see him up against Juve
