Kompanys Red Card

In fact, if you slow down the first angle, you can see the right leg is trailing it anyway

Can I just say, it's actually pretty good having a debate that doesn't resort to name calling and pointless smilies! Great stuff

Absolutely - and I'd be interested to know what grounds the FA have rescinded the red card.
I've a suspicion that Dean has actually had input in coming to that conclusion.

Gunner, I don't believe it was, the appeal panel don't believe it was, every paper I have seen since the incident didn't think it was, ESPN who replayed the video numerous times didn't think it was, Arsene Wenger even didn't believe it was.
I suppose we could all be wrong though...

I've always been a bit surprised that teams are allowed to appeal red cards. Imagine a game where a player gets sent off after 5 minutes, definitely not a sending off, they lose 1-0, if the FA rescind the red card shouldn't the team be allowed a replay?

Let's just agree that we disagree.

Fubo,
Get over it! As an Arsenal fan, I don't believe that it was a red card and I'm glad the FA had the wisdom to override the referee's decision.
Having said that, the real issue is not the judgement of the officials, it is the fact that we do not give them the ability to take a second(or third) look! Probably with the help of available technology, which was used by the FA to review this call, the Ref. may have only issued a 'yellow" card.
However, football(aka. soccer) fans and managers like to whine and complain after they have seen an incident 10 times from 4 or 5 different angles. The officials have to make instantaneous decisions!
Give these people some help from technology, as some other sports do, or accept the consequences.

I have thought that before Chris. Essentially though, you would hope that a referee stays consistent within the 90 minutes, so if he gives a red for something, he would give it again if that same thing happened later on. The appeal process is if the referee has made either an error in judgement or thought he saw something that wasn't the case, so it is more to stop clubs being penalised for more than just that one game.

No you're not.
It was a good tackle but i can see why, from his angle, the ref gave sent Kompany off.
A good decision today imo.
