city ground

Rumour has it that we have brought the city ground back of the council to allow us to do expansions.

This apparently is what his son was tweeting about last week. If it turns out not to be true don't shoot the messenger but we should hear next week.

Does anyone on here has any sort of connections that could confirm or deny this.

No offense....but i don't think anyone wants to watch teams like Oldham on a regular basis.

I'm talking about building a strong foundation for the Premier League, not teams that are struggling in League 1.

I've heard they're going to flog it on to Billy Smart's Circus and will be renting either Meadow Lane or The Ricoh from 2014/15...

Gandy, the wife should buy her own bloody ticket! And I doubt we have 40,000 people prepared to watch us each week. When was the last time we had an average attendance anywhere near our capacity?

we had 28,707 this season against Direby. We don't get 100% capacity cause of health & safety. I bet we could of easily sold another 10,000 tickets for that match if we had a bigger ground and the price was right.

BOTTOM LINE......over 300,000 people living in Notts....surely at least 10% of them would watch Forest if the price was right.

That's one game, the biggest game of the season really. Health and safety is not the reason we don't get full capacity. It certainly reduces the number of tickets available but there are always spare seats. I agree that there is potential to get more fans in and 30,000 would be achievable if we had a nicer stadium and were more successful. But I think that's probably near the limit of our potential.

I like the City Ground as it is.

I assume this also helps dodge FFP problems, no rent will now be paid, increasing profits (reducing losses ). So should unlock wage capacity for new players?

btw: Nottingham Urban area is just shy of 700,000

Nottinghamshire pop is over 1.1 million ... We could easily fill a 40k seater stadium

Cheers for the revised figures of the population Hoons. i was just going by a quick wiki on nottingham making an estimate for 2 years ago.

At the end of the day...i can't see increased ground capacity as a bad thing.
