looking at the squad I dont have much hope....
Goalkeepers- Mcgregor easy pick
Centre Defenders- Shame that Danny Wilson's career hasn't turned out the way many expected. Not sure if Hanley's has turned out much better. Apart from that there is Berra,Caldwell and Mulgrew. This is a worryingly poor part of the squad and maybe a reason we have been so poor.
Left backs- Lee Wallace would be my choice. Will strachan pick him even if he is playing in the third division? The other choices are fox and dixon.
Right backs- Im fairly confident strachan wont do what levein did and pick Hutton until he finds a club. Bardsley and Whitaker to fight it out for this position.
Centre Midfielders- First picks would be Morrison and Brown. I feel that Strachan will probably make Brown captain due to Fletchers illness. Alongside those 2 I would pick Mccarthur but other canditates would be Bannan, Dorrans, Adam.
Wingers- Obvious picks would be Maloney, Naismith, Commons and Forrest. Dont know much about the guy philips at Blackpool but one thing we definitely need in the team is a bit of pace. We aren't too bad in this area.
Strikers- First choice at this moment in time would be Steven Fletcher. Rhodes will play his part. Apart from that there isnt much. Im not even mentioning kenny miller. Oops. Maybe give Griffiths a chance to impress and introduce Tony Watt when the time is right. Mackail-Smith is probably the only other striker who can play on his own other than fletcher. Have I missed anyone?
Overall its not great but there are options in certain areas. Centre defence is really poor. Championship level at best. Other than that we can fill the team with players from the premiership and old firm. If Steven Fletcher gets injured we do have a problem with who plays up top on their own. One things for sure if we get any injuries in key positions then Strachan's appointment could go the same way as Levein's. Thoughts guys?
Strachan- good appointment but...

"Lee Wallace made his bed chasing the money. He can rot in it"

If Wallace was that interested in money he'd have left Rangers last summer along with various others.

" Hegarty"
Fortunately for him, he is Northern Irish.

Strachan also needs to make us more entertaining at hampden. The past qualifiers there have been awful. We should be going all out for the win rather than sitting back and hitting teams on the break. We have loads of attacking players so use them!

Its a shocking state of affairs
If that is as good as weve got then we may as well shut up shop.
Little point in playing international football with those players.
And what about the next generation.
Celtic have just signed a 19 year old from Oz
Whats up with our own 19 year olds.
Other than Armstrong at Dundee Hibernian I cant think of a decent kid, perhaps Watt but will he get games?

Anyway, I'd gladly see no Rangers player ever play for that team again. Too much of an injury risk. The longer Wallace is kept out it, the better.

Snodgrass is a fantastic player, if you put him on the wing and put a pacy winger on the other flank he will do wonders for you.
Can't stress it enough, he'd be at a top4 club right now, if it wasn't for his lack of pace, great footballer destined for a long career in the EPL
Also if Trappatoni managed to get Ireland to the euros with a defence containing such greats as O'Dea, Ward Kilbane, McShane etc. then I'm sure Strachan can manage something similar with you boys, there's definitely enough young talent there
