He just said he was a good player, who would cost a lot. He didn't say he had bid for him
Its more likley to be a distraction to the fans, rather than a smokescreen for another player. He knows if he comes out and said we are not in for any one, the fans would go mental. So he has lightly hinted his intrest to deflect pressure away for a bit.
Obviously Hopefully I am completely wrong, and we'll see cavani unveiled in the coming days.... Wont happen though.

Of course it is. Cavani is at bare minimum going to cost £40mil. The mans a machine. He is easily on falcaos level but is for some reason not spoken about as much. Arsenal wouldn't pay that much and Napolis chairman will get the best deal possible.

I was excited in the morning with all the Cavani talk but as the day has gone on, reality has kicked in.

There is always Llorente or one the Real Madrid strikers who can't play together in the same team. As Falcao seems to have signed a pre-contract with Madrid suggests Benzema or Higuain will be shown the door. It could very well be one of them.

The problem is keeping anything secret because its in the selling clubs interest to leak it. Arsene wouldn't be talking about Cavani unless the bid had been accepted.

The only other club in for him would have been Chelsea but they have Torres problem so it very well could be Cavani.
