The way Arsenal are functioning it's frightening to me. They are selling their best players and offering 100k a week to mediocre players like Walcott. No need to mention players like Gervinho on the bench earning a fair amount of money for doing nothing.
It happened to Liverpool in King Kenny days. They bought players like Henderson, Downing and Adam and offer them long term contracts.....

The thing with Theo is that he's been with us forever, so its not a gamble. Its not like we are throwing 100k at some random player who may or may not deliver. We've seen what he can do.
As for the secon point about Gervinho, we're probably in a worse state than kennys liverpool. Arshavin, squillaci, fabianksi, chamakh, bendtner, denilson, djorou etc. are all still on the wage bill and have probably mustered up 2 league starts between them.
