2 decisions available to hoyle..

sack grayson...

back grayson with some signings..

the third option is to leave it as it is and very, very seriously risk relegation..

time for dean to show what he is made of...see wether he is now happy to have his money back via rhodes and risk it that we dont go down... if we are relegated will he walk???

he might argue he is leaving the club without debt but its not a great epitaph... jacko will still be a bigger "hero"....

Loans don't come cheap.

People assumed Bates wasn't backing Grayson because of all the loans, but that's how Grayson chose to spend the money and he's doing the same now.

Grayson has repeatedly said he's got a fantastic chairman who backs him.

Grayson wants the short term fix because he doesn't want to spend money and risk signings not working out.

“Shame I like the bloke… “

What’s to like? He’s a football manager! Maybe he’s good family man, puts food out for our feathered friends who visit his garden during the winter, and drops money into charity collection tins, but if he has to be a right bassa to ensure a winning team, then so be it.

Grayson should acquire a copy of the DVD of Swansea v Stoke, played yesterday, sit the players down in a darkened room, and show the move that ended with de Guzmán’s second goal for the Swans, time after time after time, until the simplicity, the beauty, and the effectiveness of it sinks in. Then he needs to tell them that this is what they should aspire to. Any dissenters or those who aren’t prepared to work their socks off to achieve that standard should be informed that they will be shipped out of the club at the first opportunity.

If he has difficulty getting hold of a copy of that DVD, he could show them Chris Brandon’s winning goal for Town against Birmingham City in the 3 round FA Cup game played on 5.1.2008. It’s on You Tube.

It's a constant mystery to me why we have so many players who are incapable of running about.

Clubs like Swansea have an 'ethos' which has been brought in...based on high levels of fitness and hard work...even before they were a Premier League side they applied this, and it's impressive. They didn't always have the best individuals, but as a 'unit' they were better than most.

At Town we seem to have a bunch of low energy injury prone players...and the more Grayson tries to get them to run about, the more hamstring injuries we get.

What we don't know is what Grayson actually says to the players...and what instructions are etched into their brains. It seems to me they are all holding back...but I don't understand why, week after week, this is the case.

As a 'master tactician' Grayson certainly came up trumps with his half time team talk at Watford, turning a decent 1st half effort into a 2nd half shambles.

I get the feeling more players are getting naffed off ...arguments and fall outs seem to abound...and Graysons' post match rhetoric bares less and less resemblance to any reality.

Are they holding back because half of them are loanees ??

I don't think so...I don't think loanees are any less or more committed than contracted players. They have their own reputations to keep, they know their performances are monitored and if they want a good contract somewhere they need to keep their reputation good.

No, to me it's not really about individuals, it's about creating a cohesive unit of like minded committed players...it's a team game and everyone has to be on the same wavelength.

I always think of Mick Buxton's team, he picked up players from obscure places for bargain prices in the lower leagues because he knew what he was trying to build, and could recognise the right pieces of his jigsaw. Players with a certain attribute...who as an individual maybe didn't attract much attention, but put in the right team with like minded players suddenly became very effective players.

That is the skill of a manager, and the perception of a scout. Grayson has failed to do this...we have some quite decent players, but we don't have a team.

This maybe true? but he was and is a great professional and we were lucky to have him in our team many years ago. Simon did very well at Blackpool before numb nuts took over and i find it strange he has struggle with Huddersfield.

On paper your team looks great! and i can only put it down to the same problem we had until Pearson came back. A lot of players on big money with egos, thinking there better than they actually are.....Beckford and Danns being 2 of them.

Confidence is a major part i feel, because when you played at ours you passed the ball around very well, but when we scored our first players heads dropped and some went missing.

Maybe a change of manager is the answer?

He's certainly not a good family man because he cheated on his wife.

We're not talking about Grayson the player, we're talking about Grayson the manager.

He's very unprofessional as a manager, I've certainly never known one like him in over 20 years of following football.
