I'm a bloke that takes pride in his unshakable sense of sartorial elegance. Class and style are my byword when it comes to clobber, shoes and watches. It's my firm belief that sportswear shouldn't be worn socially, and all Sports Direct stores should be burnt to the ground.
But the football manager has a pickle; is he a sporting employee who needs to show solidarity with his players by wearing the uniform of battle, or does he keep a healthy professional barrier between himself and them by wearing his whistle, ever the image of being all business. I noticed O'Niell wearing full training gear at Wigan today, and Stuart Pearce even used to lace up his boots to stand on the touch line. Our own AVB is the epitome of dapper.
If I were a manager it'd be the suit, as expensive as I'd be willing to destroy by sliding on my knees Jose style. 1. What do you prefer to see a manager decked out in? and 2. What would you wear?
Managers: Tracksuit or Suit?

Suit....and a good ol' sheepskin.

Definitely a suit.
You only have to look at the improved appearance of Martin Jol to reach a conclusion on that matter.

Has to be the suit for me.
As long as it fits properly then it just gives that aura of power and authority.
Nobody out there a fan of the Joachim loew polo necks? Will someone ever wear a Louis spence v-neck?
FYI OP, sports direct has it's uses, I get all the Adidas/Nike vest tops I wear at the gym there and when you need some fair-priced holiday clothes, sports direct always come in handy

It waould be a suit for me, everytime ...AVB looks in control at all times.
Tony Pulis, is the perfect example of how attire reflects upon a person, if you look at him in the dug out screaming and shouting with his baseball cap on, you take on an opinion, and then when you see him in his aftermatch interview, in his best suit, being articulate and relaxed you take on another opinion. Its like he is two different people.

i quite like tony pulls.
i agree with laudrup. they have a style and stick to it, they don't bullshhiiiit or say they are one thing and try to do something else.
i don't like their style though, but i don't mind pulis as much as most.
i also remember last season when his mother died on the day of a game.. and he still turned up at the game (all be it late) to help his team in the game.
from that day on i had big respect for him as a committed manager.

Suit every time, tie not essential though. Pullis and Lambert are beginning to look like a pair of dinosaurs in their tracksuits !!

I like Pulis too, I prefer the bloke that does the interviews though, not the other one that wears the baseball cap.
In fairness to him, long term prem survival was his main objective, and it's mission accompished, he has tried to buy better players in regards to playing nicer football, maybe it hasnt worked, but I think that is his goal.
however ...I am sure they are different people:
