Villarreal's continuing fall from grace was again evident after being thrashed by Real Madrid Castilla, in Marcelino's first game as manager.
Goals from Morata, Borja, Pedro Mosquera, Jese and Tcherychev condemned Villarreal to their highest defeat since their relegation from La Liga and reminded them of how far they have fallen.
For it was only five years ago that they had actually split Real Madrid and Barcelona in the league, a feat that is rarely achieved.
However, the stark reality is that they were beaten by five goals from Real Madrid's reserve team.
The team lies 9th place in the league now and are four points off even a Play-Off place.
Next week they are again away from home at 7th placed, Sabadell, in what really is a must win game.
