Graeme souness, alan hansen, mark laurenson, Jamie redknapp and phil thompson.
(please excuse the spelling)

Too many pundits?

Gary Nevilles commentary in last seasons CL Semi final is ... admittedly... brilliant

Schmeichel is generally quite good when I've seen him

I've got to say I like Gary Neville.
The only times when pundits have any use whatsoever is when they're doing a tactical analysis, at which Hansen and Neville are often very good. The rest of the time i wish they'd just F off.
Listening to commentary and punditry makes me angry at all the nonsense they spew. Just the same repetitive incomprehensible phrases

Hansen is quality at analysis but too negative. It gets to you after a while.
Souness is one of the best

His commentary for the Arsenal CL game where they needed 4 goals great too. It was like he wanted to go out on the pitch he was so passionate

It's a sad aspect of the legacy of Parsley and Fagan if the only one good manager that has come out of the club yis Dalglish. Ok, Souey did well at Rangers and Blackburn and Aldo did well at Tranmere.
It seems the rest were either failed managers or became TV and radio pundits.
However contrast with Fergie. There's a list of ex players who as managers have held their own in the PL and SPL. Two have made National Managers.

Wasn't that a gritty, hard-hittin', cop show set in NY?
Or was that Parsley and Sage?
Rosemary and Thyme?
Salt 'N Vinegar?
Not sure. Something like that, anyway.. Not sure what it's legacy was, though. A lot of wasted Saturday nights, is my guess.

Toshack didn't have too bad a time of it, granted there was some failures but he took Swansea from no-where to the top flight and won a league title with Madrid. Not a bursting CV by any means but put it this way I'd have rather he replaced Dalglish than Souness looking back.
Still, overall very few have been successes as you say. Have Fergie's pupils really been all that? Two are in the championship, one was sacked not long ago after a horror job at QPR, Robson was mixed, Ince failed his big test and Strachan will in all likelihood struggle with a dismal Scotland team. Wait and see on Solskjaer. If I missed any I will stand corrected.
I'd argue Keegan has done as much, if not more than a few of them in his managerial career, which doesn't say much.

The list of LFC players who became managers includes Matt Busby, Bob Paisley, Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, Toshack, Roy Evans, Souness.
Quite a few trophies, between that little lot. ...

No, every pundit on TV should be an ex-Liverpool player. Otherwise they may be ex-United players and we wouldn't want this.
