Stones - Flicker's take

Good to hear Flicker's assessment of the interest in Stones.

No - we don't want to sell him for a cut price deal. £3 million will get him and do us some good. We do want him for the rest of the season - and he will be worth more to anyone who gets him by playing for us.

We are not Poundland and not giving away a valuable asset.

Good to hear something like this. Would be gutted if he went for next to nothing and I like the idea that Flicker has said he would like Stones to be loaned to us until the end of the season IF he is tempted away.

At last we have a manager who has grown a pair. Well done Flicker. Let's hope the board back him and don't get too excited by the first rubber chequebook waved at them.

Now that Man Utd have paid 10 million plus 5 with add on's for Zaha I think 3 million is not enough,it's not just Barnsley that are talking about Stones its other premiership clubs,at the end of the day he is an up and coming England fullback with a bright future and we should be looking for 5 million then add on's, dont think we will hold out for that much though if offers do come in for him

I doubt anyone would give anymore than half that for a player with little experience, but I hope no-one does.

Stones would be better staying and improving here.

Nathaniel Clyne with 4 seasons experience in 123 games went for about £2.5m, that's a better comparison than with Zaha!
