Stick With What We Have ?

On the 2nd January I predicted that we would make no new signing in the January transfer window and got slated by many on JA 606 . Now with only a week remaining and no concrete offers made for new players.

What do people think ?

Habib Habibou is making noises on twitter about how cold he is in Leeds ?, Gradel talk is rife again and Dindane's name seems to be banded around mainly by his agent .

Are we clinging onto hope that’s not there, should we just knuckle down with the players that we have got ?

Maybe gfh planned to give nw money in jan, thinking he was capable of getting us up but performances upto jan may have made them realise that he's not all that.
Now they're saving their cash for a new manager in the summer as there is no point giving nw money now, then if he fails to get us up having a new guy come in who may not want warnocks signings

Couldn't agree more Jonty

Patel has even stated that GFH's financial strategy for the club is not predicated on us returning to the PL at the earliest opportunity and that investment in the club will be "sustainable" i.e. they will run the club like a business and will not sacrifice profit figures for expensive investment in the squad success on the pitch.

Warnock is the ideal safe option for GFH, we can sit in mid table and they can spend nothing on the team, make a profit and still not have to worry about relegation, as Warnock continues to fluke results with this awful team.

Have they also not said that they are going to spend big money in January? The January transfer window is a farce and you end up spending stupid money on a player you could for a third of the price any other time! Yes they should not have said those comments about Warnock but we need to give them time! Start reviewing the situation when next season starts and see where the money is then. I have written off this season to be fair and am waiting to see what happens in the summer.

hasnt proven to be a farce for other clubs like Leicester and Chris Wood.

CB, I pointed out a worrying statement from accounts the other day about Leeds now being less dependant on success on the pitch.

The moment you start saying things like this is the moment you start investing your money in other areas. Not that much was ever invested on the pitch in the first place.

How many more seasons do we have to "write off" though Battywack? 3 pointless years in the championship now.

What's the point in even being in the championship, if we're just going to sit in mid table, sell our best players and sack the manager on an annual basis? No stability.

In that case, we might as well have stayed in League 1, wrote off a few seasons down there with Gary Mac and built a cheap, talented team capable of back to back promotions...

Its totally unacceptable for a club like Leeds to be continually "writing off" seasons in the 2nd tier..,. especially when the owners are constantly giving it all this ambitious talk.

The problem is, with a continuation of the previous policy with respect to player investment, the business model will fail, as they won't be able to give season tickets away for next season.

Season tickets for next season. It's all been surprisingly quiet on that front.

Suspect they're beavering away on the calculators to work out how much they'll rip us (oops charge) us next season for such fantastic entertainment.

I just hope they remember that while they're reducing the costs for walk up attendees over the next few weeks (which i've no problem with), that they do more for the ST holders who commit to every game.
