Not a ball boy article

Fed up to the back teeth with ball boy articles.
Fairly crap display last night. Many things wrong with the way we played. I'm well aware that our passing was poor mainly due to the pressing of Swanseas midfield who I thought all played very well but we just didn't seam comfortable with the ball, even Lampard was rushing passes, but the most concerning to me was the long balls bypassing the midfield. The main culprit being Ivanovic, I can't be sure but this looked to be a directive from the manager. Is this a consequence of playing Ba? I do hope not, as we have played some very good football at times by playing out from the back.

Mata was very poor last night-burnout? been below par for a while now

Mata doesn't really do much work off the ball and really anonymous when the opposition are dictating the game.

Mata does no work off the ball,

last night a swansea player practically walked by him and mata WALKED up to him to close him down...

not just pointing the finger at Mata, but i think almost all our players do the same thing...

and they shouldn't be doing it, if I was manager, I would be shouting at them to WORK...

Thats a sign of a poor manager and that is a FACT Rafa.

My concern with our attack is that without Moses we are playing so narrow. I know that mata and hazard can play wide but that needs to be a directive from Benitez. The 3 were just crowding each other and don't exactly bust a gut to work defensively. I don't like the 4231 system, it's just not a very solid base. Jose will sort it out come June once benitez has gone.

Not only Rafa even the other managers we had couldn't get our team to press. Apart from Cole, Ramires and Oscar nobody else is bothered with pressing.

maybe the other managers didn't get the best out of the team?

it does take a very good manager to do this, I bet Mouinho would have no trouble doing it and would drop the players that didn't work hard enough for the team.

Jose seems to bond well with players and they respond to him. I'm sure this group would improve dramatically under his direction
