Jeff Hendrick to Aston Villa?

It seems " High Flying" Aston Villa do not think Jeff is worthy of wearing the claret & blue of the tripple decade under achieving West Midlands outfit.

You can do better than them anyway Jeff.

Obviously the situation at Derby looks a lot roseier at the next level down but if we were to fluke a promotion I couldnt imagine GSE doing anything differently than Villa.
If anything we would be worse off as our better youngsters would be of a higher profile and more likely to be snapped up.
If that were to happen IMO the cycle would just start again under the current owners

However I may be way off the mark and would take no pleasure in being proved correct

Bush: I would love to be in a position where we can conduct the experiment!

Peeder,
I think American sports takes a different approach, the draft system, buying young talent and selling these players on at a profit and baulking at paying big wages. I think this is one thing Andy Appleby regrets - under Jewell's tenure - and was dismayed by (wages). This is the approach Villa have taken. Like us, what they perhaps lack is some experience in key areas & these is what can prove costly.

I think we're far from being promotion material, we lack investment and that probably will only come from the sale of a talented player. I think it is also good to approach the PL on your terms, as far as you can, and Swansea's success has been built on finding their own style. The way Forest are going on about things is unsustainable. They are the ones likely to fluke a promotion and then struggle badly in the PL.

I think Villa are taking evasive action, the PL may appear mega-rich, and in no danger of losing its global popularity but individual clubs will experience problems as so many are in debt or can't sustain their costs. I also think clubs don't suddenly struggle, it is a gradual decline, - just as it takes time to build something - and Villa's problems already began with Martin O'Neill, compounded by Houllier (forgotten, he spent a lot of money on a player called Makoun) & McLeish.

Villa under martin o'niell - yes I could see this being a decent career progression for jeff. Villa nowadays, I wouldn't bother, it would be possibly the faintest shuffle forward in his career but I would, in his situation, much rather stay at derby who are making steady progress than join a club on its knees.

The two clubs are in a very similiar situation though, just in different divisions, for now.
Put Villa in the championship next season and they are virtialy identical in how they are run

Looking through the DET photos of the players training in the snow, you can see Jeff Hendrick on a claret and blue sledge.

He said he'd never gone downhill so fast in his life.

Earlier today, I had bacon on a roll.

Now you've made me think of 666 actually on a roll Eddie.. that's disturbing...

Millwall 2- 1 Villa - another great reason for Hendricks to join them!!
