Jennings

After a long day drinking and talking football a question was asked. Would you consider Pat Jennings a Judas? I know a lot of people have still got a soft spot for Jennings but I said yes. Am I wrong? If so, why?

I agree Sport was different then we had a good healthy rivalry but no hatred as hate is such a strong emotion.

Play hard play fair to win but always conduct yourself in a respectful manner.

I see some of the characters coming on our forum from other clubs slagging me off making it personal if I make an observation that they they do not agree with they would not say these things to my face they are Lap Top Cowards !!

Spurs were relegated that season too.
The transfer to the G00ns at that time was also IMHO made a bit worse by the Terry Neill factor.

I guess an equivalent now would be if Chelsky got rid of Cech, and he went to Spurs under AVB, and then put in a few more decent seasons.

He is not a Judas.......................it was the club who sold him, he did not ask to leave. Arsenal meant he did not have to uproot family or move house!!

Just remember him as the best goalkeeper we ever had!!!

pat still works at spurs on match days,i've met him a couple of times and he's a top man who still says spurs are his club ,he also said he didn't want to leave but felt the club wanted him to go .

So,as Spurs men, apparently like Pat. Could any of you imagine pulling on a gooon shirt? Think the Terry Neill thing had more to do with it than we will ever know.

IMHO just the combination of things (the G00ns, Terry Neill, relegation etc) make it seem worse than perhaps it was.

If he was sold for financial reasons only, that was a very sad end to his Spurs career.

Jennings left Tottenham because the powers to be thought he was well passed his best,Arsenal welcomed him with open arms and he won medals with us,it was a bit like Keith Burkinshaw Spurs have a habit of shooting themselves in the feet.

Yes, those two FA Cup, one UEFA Cup, one League final medals Jennings got during his Arsenal time must have made his departure from Spurs so much easier to bear.
