New Owners

News just off the press, literally, we have new owners, well part owners subject to approval, see the Swindon Adver for the little details such as they are at the moment.
Evidently CCC football is the priority as soon as possible. Now whether that means Canioman will have access to funds immediately that is not clear, but I would think funding will now be made available to keep Hollands and Martin on board and maybe Madine as the only incomer.

Good news, all sewn up in the nick of time.

Hope he does...proven goalscorer, he'd be a good acquisition in my view.

Things drawn to a head early AM. It seems we have agreed to loan Rooney to Cheltenham along with Benson, Benson has been cleared, Rooney not.
Today deals and medicals all done on BWP, Marlon Pack and green from Charlton. All agreed, medicals etc, done and dusted. Now the Football league are saying they are not sanctioning any of the moves right now, presumably because the new owners are still to be ratified. What a state of affairs to get into. I expect Canioman is in meltdown as surely somebody should have checked and got this sanctioned before we started. Unbelievable. Anyway , thats it. its now gone 00:40 hrs, I've done my bit and kept you guys informed to the best of my abilities.. Bed beckons, hopefully somebody else can take up the mantle now because I'm busy Friday and Saturday, oval ball day Saturday, no tickets so its the Royal Blenheim pub in Oxford from around 12. Guinness and good food and big screens and its a nice pub to be in. Hopefully this mess will get sorted. Today could have been worse, a lot worse, but we still have a club to support.

SF - great job, thanks do much. Enjoy your weekend.

Anfield - I totally echo those sentiments, a big chunk of humble pie for me too!

We have had a whole month to get this sorted. But, ex members of the diplomatic corps have never been known for their speed, not even before they retired, neither IMO, for their expertise in diplomacy either.
Having sold Ritchie, albeit for less than his value, we have money for replacements, but can't spend it!
The DiC says that he knew nothing about the deal. That is as maybe. Do they train on Thursdays? If they do, surely someone would have noticed that Ritchie was missing. If they don't, why not?
Who is the power in the club to decide to sell an asset like Ritchie, without first making sure that a replacement could be signed in time. Maybe someone who knows sod all about football & seems to care even less.

The sale of Matt Ritchie.

Black was the owner, and wants to sell the club.

New owners found, negotiations take place. Sale agreed.

Due diligence reveals a "current account" cash shortfall that will see the club run out of money while the take over is taking place.

Discussions take place on how to bridge that gap. Neither side has "ready cash" at that point in time to put in. Sale of a player is discussed by old and new owners and reluctantly agreed. Black and Jed both agreed. The sale took place because the vast majority of the money was paid the next day and not in installments as the previous offers would have been over two years. The sweetener is a sell on clause, details as yet not disclosed.

Black as the out going owner sells Ritchie, as he is entitled to do. The funds come in almost immediately making the day to day running of the club possible by keeping it solvent.

Club sold, paperwork sent to FL for them to ratify new owners. Technically now the club is in flux and cannot buy new players until the new owners are approved.

Ritchie money used to secure new signings, please note, Hollands(injured) and Martin have both returned to their respective clubs.

Signings made but as Jed-the-Red not approved the new players also cannot yet be approved but will be if he is, and that is how we could could sell but not buy or loan new players until ratification day.

When ratified Jed is rumoured to be putting in £3M.

Please note that Benson was loaned out by the old owner, and Rooney couldn't go to Cheltenham as when the deal was struck after the ownership changed. Not really that complicated

Once again an excellent contribution SF.

Hopefully in a week's time the deals can go through. In the meantime we have important points at stake, starting tomorrow at the Creepies. A good result there to continue our momentum is what we need now.
