What if we don't sign a player tomorrow?

Yes, another boring transfer article. But this one is a vote and your reaction.

Please vote for the following options and kindly leave a reason why.

5 - Already in the Wenger Out brigade, so meh!

4 - Not before, but now i want Wenger Out.

3 - Wenger has a fair share of the blame, but it's the boards fault as they haven't given him the money.

2 - Not Wenger's fault at all. Blame the board and Kroenke for everything.

1 - Don't care about players. Fully in support of Wenger and the board.

The upper echelons of this club do not care about winning, they care about maintaining the status quo with as little investment as possible.
That is the only conclusion I can possibly draw.

That does not absolve Wenger of responsbility, he is completely complicit in this stagnation of the club and the stagnation of his own ambitions, "4th is a trophy".

It is evident that the club’s hierarchy are content to plod along with the belief that once FFP kicks in the club will be in a healthier position than most; and will in turn reap the benefits of its frugality.

However they have not accounted for the fact that it could take five or even ten years for FFP to show its teeth, (if it ever does) and by that time we could be left behind the elite.

What is the point on having circa £80m in a bank account to use for a rainy day when it is currently pouring down.

Beggars belief

Even this is in doubt. Gazidis eluded it on a recent interview that even he thinks the FFP won't be the saviour Arsenal expeted it to be. In that, he and the board and Wenger are setting the club up for something that won't work. At which point they'll shrug their shoulders and say "Well we tried!".

Agreed.
Could be left behind by the elite? Look up ahead, we have been left behind.

Based on everything I've read and heard about FFP to hold out hope that it will lead us to becoming dominant or more competitive is slightly naive.

While I feel that FFP will eventually work (Uefa and the ECA have invested too many resources into it to let it fail) I feel that the club need to be more accommodating until FFP is implemented in full.

The recent withholding of prize monies from clubs by Uefa is a drop in the ocean for them. However further sanctions are available and ultimately exclusion is an option.

The point is that we can currently meet FFP and utilise the recourses at the clubs disposal but are choosing not to.

Surely if we spent the money in the bank now, then when FFP finally comes in we'll still have the CL money, possibly be winning trophies and have a bigger fanbase around the world, meaning we can then revert to our current methods a bit more, but with more money coming in?

I might be being naive and simplistic, but oh well.

I did the sum in my head and with the number of lifeboats times the capacity you mentioned, forgive me, but it seems that there are not enough for everyone aboard.
