Beckham donating wages to charity

All of them.

What a fantastic gesture.

A lot of people have a lot of money thanks to football, and it's great to see gestures like this.

Footballers just can't win.

It's a brilliant gesture. Stop being a prat.

True, people are way too cynical, most rich folk and footballers especially chase every thin dime, whether or not he benefits from the publicity I am certain the poor kids in Paris, and trust me there are plenty will not be concerned where the money is coming from

Just went up in my estimation and I already thought quite highly of you anyway

when becks was a UTD player he had a charity helping disabled kids. I had dealings with it as I have a disabled kid. Although I never recieved money from him.

Him and posh used to turn up for 5/10 mins with the proviso that the video made would make it seem like they had spent hours there

The charity employed their relatives and was basically a tax dodge thing. On leaving UTD the charity was shut down virtually overnight leaving people wanting and some had been given the go ahead and so had been turned down by others and ended up with nowt.

dont let these gestures fool you

Let me get your logic right.... He is giving money away to boost his image, to boost his what excatly? His Income? His celebrity? His profile in the football world?

Don't be soft....

Who cares what the motivation anyway.... The charity gets the cash.

Of course it's a publicity stunt, majority of things beckham and wife do are, however does that take away the fact he is donating a lot of money to a good cause.

He deserves a well done no matter what his motivation.

Further down the line you will probably see Beckham becoming the poster boy for the Qatar World Cup in 2022. Beckham will not be playing for 'free'. He won't be doing anything where there's no gain for him. He'll be picking up a pot of gold from PSG's Qatari owners in the future. Plus the fact he's 'donating' his wages to charity will score him more brownie points in his bid to get a knighthood.

That comment paints you in a truly awful light.

So he won't be doing anything where there's no gain for him.

When was the last time you did a job where there was no gain for you?

Idiot.

Winston

It does sound a bit bitter. I just get a tad miffed at all the carp on TV and in the press about 'Saint David'.

There will be some 'other' benefit to him for signing for PSG.

I loved him as a footballer at United. He was a very good footballer. Never absolutely world class, but a top quality player. But the sycophantic circus around him really grates. He's portrayed in the media as a footballing god and some sort of saint off the field. Which he's not and never has been.

But that's the media - they love sensationalising things - doesn't mean he shouldn't be charitable, does it?

He's not a saint, but he is an incredibly decent person.
