He not play great at left back

I think he's certainly a CB for Rovers. It's good to have him as an option at LB but last season, we tended to be narrow in midfield on the left. This means you need a wing-back, which Friend isn't.
With a left-sided wide midfielder, I think he would be fine.
Glad he's re-signed.

Glad he's signed as he will be a wanted man come the end of the season. Mates used to say I've lost it when he first started playing for us, as I said he will become a very good player, were as they thought he was .......
If you look at the big picture, instead of the little one where he was played out of position, you would of seen a future Rovers hero.
He can play, pure an simple, he can play the ball out with either foot. He can, and often does, just bring the ball out instead of just lumping it upfield. He has now started to command the box at set peices, he knows when to tackle and more importantly when not to. ( are you listening Hird ) He now has the belief in his own heading ability, something that was missing. We had Mills and we had the Shack, now we have a player who I believe can be better than both. Credit where its due, this is down to SOD, ( can't believe I said that )
