Is this still happening? Haven't heard a lot about it but if it does happen where will that leave the premier league clubs? United will have young, jones, ferdinand, rooney, carrick, owen, smalling plus a load of youngsters. liverpool have just bought a lot of good english talent so theyll be fine. Chelsea will be okay.
For us though, where would it leave us? Wilshere, Walcott and Gibbs have all represented us in recent years. Eastmond, Frimpong and Lansbury are knocking on the door but apart from that, will we be in a lot of danger? Maybe thats why wenger is looking more at englush players with cahill, jagielka and rodwell being linked......
Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

My main thought is this:
Eastmond is definitely not "knocking on the door" at Arsenal.
Frimpong should probably not be "knocking on the door" yet.
And unfortunately, the only door that Lansbury appears to be anywhere near at the moment is marked [EXIT].

The 6 + 5 rule will never come in. The 25 man squad rule (ie a maximum of 17 non-Brits can be named, but without a discriminating obligation to name British players.) was a compromise, which hasn't really changed anything.
EU laws will not allow a restriction of the right for people to be employed without discrimination, which a 6 + 5 rule would breach.
