Ni No Kuni

The Wrath of the White Witch. I am about 13 hours into this amazing RPG. Studio Ghibli teamed up with Level - 5 to create a game that has me feeling like a kid again. A very classic style of RPG with everything just done right.

The music and art on this game are 100% Ghibli. They truly make you feel as if you're in the latest film release. The story is quite heart breaking but looks to lift you up throughout your adventure. Some quirky humour and laugh out loud moments throughout as well. The controls are fine and the game is surprisingly deep in its different systems.

The one downside is the lack of choices now apparent in games. Mass Effect and other such games may have spoiled me. It's not as if this game/story is any less great though. It only takes me out of feeling completely immersed and sort of feels like playing through what they want you to play. But like I said, not a bad thing at all.

Leveling up is basic, not many choices early on but as you unlock new spells and equipment it begins to feel very customizable and looks to play a major part as the enemies grow stronger.

I'm a big fan of boss fights and there are plenty already. 15-25 battles are frustrating but oh so rewarding. Overall I strongly recommend this game. It's filling a void that hasn't been filled since I last played Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast.
