Frankly, I'd prefer us to be a respectable club with simple, affordable hardworking players and a decent board than the rubbish we have become, Chelsea FC now leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, how can you justify us selling Sturridge (without even giving him a proper chance in his preferred position) to Liverpool and yet retaining Torres who can't get into the first team of any pl side.
Whose bright idea was it to sack Rdm and employ Rafa to rehabilitate Torres.
What is 50m to Roman that he cannot count his losses and walk away, for the last 2 years all decisions are geared towards getting Torres to improve, everyone else including Torres has given up on himself except Roman, frankly, I think Roman has taken us as far as he can, maybe its time to start thinking of how to run the club differently, and efficiently, post Roman.
Roman is ruining our club

FFS he's better than Manus owners, Arsenal's owners, Liverpool's previous two owners, Spurs owner, Everton's owner, Villa's owner, City's former owner, Pompey's owner when they were a club, Leed's owner when they were a premiership club, and 99% of what's left would happily swap owners with you.
Ungrateful, spoilt children.

Ungrateful, spoilt children.
-----------------------------------
I followed this Club all over the country for years when we were in the second division and rubbish, so there's nothing you can teach me about bad owners, cos I've seen more of them than you have. Yes you're right that Roman Abramovich is better than some of the owners above that you mention but that doesn't mean that our Club behaves in the proper way all the time.

OK fair dos
maybe I was a little harsh and the article writer a little extreme.
Can we settle in the middle?
How about " for the 6-9 month stretches where we don't win league titles, FA Cups, or the Champions League, it can be quite frustrating understanding Roman's decisions."

With the secrecy at the Club we may not know that we actually did win the FA Cup again.
Let me know if we do

I think its quite obvious to all that Roman runs the club and makes all key decisions, all the board members just supply the info and logistics for him to reach a decision. Like someone mentioned earlier he has retired from active business and taken up Football Management as a hubby, our dear club is his toy and we the fans and the rest of the world are just spectators, our role is to cheer and weep as the case may be. Cheer when he gets it right and we win stuff, rejoice when he splashes cash and sign stars, then weep and moan when he gets it wrong.

Sideshow, I agree that the Rangers owner spilling his guts all the time on twitter is both embarrassing and as you say unprofessional.
My own preference would be somewhere about half way between the two extremes that you describe.

His dad has taken him to one game at the Bridge.
His elder brother's a gooner so Darbs took the both to the gooners game at the Bridge last season - and we lost 3-5!
Apparently his brother didn't shut up about it to the poor lad for weeks
