Match-fixing in England

This isn't an article about the big match-fixing scandal of today, rather on the day to day match fixing that plagues the modern game.
I read the Secret Footballer's book recently and he talked about match-fixing that occurs in England. Whilst it is not normally the end result that is fixed, players rather bet on things like to whom the first throw in will go. Apparently you can make a small fortune on this.
How it works
75% of the time the kick-off goes to the away side.
Why?
Because the home side want to be playing towards their fans in the second half. The concede kick-off, and then its fifty-fifty if the away side chooses end or kick-off.
I spent ages making a tree diagram here but it didn't work out on the preview
How can you match fix with this knowledge?
Well, if you start with possession, it is easy to concede the first throw. The Secret Footballer says how in his young naivety he thought the centre-backs were just really bad players and couldn't keep the ball in play.

Match-fixing, boo

In other words, send Ovrebo to jail!

Matt Le Tissier has said he has been in on a first throw scam. Only when he tried to kick it out he fecked up.
