Football Aid. 2013

Morning Pals

Once again I'm here to spam a great charitable website that runs alongside the Football League and Premier League

http://www.footballaid.com/

Football Aid is a great event that takes place at the majority of clubs in England and Scotland (for Petey and Dot).

I've done this about 7 times now, played at Spurs twice (scored I might add).. Charlton, Portsmouth, Palace, QPR, Watford.

You get an option on bidding for your positions, a full kit to keep with your name on the back, stadium tour, and playing with ex-pro's.

The main reason for this was for the purpose of raising funds to find a cure for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes, and so far they've raised over £1.89M since 2000.

I'm hopefully going to do it again this year, having family who suffer from diabetes I understand how difficult it is!

Going by Thudd's prices mate, a grand is too much for me at the moment. I will be donating though as I'm type 1 too.

If anyone else wants to;

I can confirm it's easily the best footballing experience I have ever done

The first Spurs game was amazing, it flew me by, walking into the main area, being taken around the ground, meeting staff, then getting changed and having a chat from Gary Stevens and Steve Sedgley, such nice blokes, I was the first changed and out on the pitch

The moment I stepped on the grass I was blown away, it's like a carpet, ran towards the goal and smashed on in the open net!

Can't tell you how special it feels to play at the ground you support and doing it for a cause that's close to your heart!

My family were chuffed and I do this every year to help a cause I feel close to, to play football, and also help a chairty I beleive in is good!

Ever since I was a young boy I have always dreamed of stepping on to the sacred white hart lane pitch. Would be magic

I did it for the first time in 1959, illegally I my add. Danny gave me his autograph. Just down by the corner of the Old West Stand and Park Lane, where the players used to come out.
