Most people on here see today's game as the priority but the boss will almost certainly put a second string(ish) side out today as the 9 point gap allows us to rest a few players.
Football management is all about calculated risks and even a draw today would be a good result. Going to Madrid with a fresh team and a 10 point lead would be brilliant especially considering how poor City are at the moment.
This team is very conceivable today -
--------------------------------- De Gea----------------------------------
----------Rafael-------Evans-----Smalling----------Evra-----------
-------------Nani-------Anderson---Giggs-------Young---------
-------------------------Rooney----Hernandez-----------------------
That would be enough to at least get a point today and considering how poor Everton were against Villa last week, this team could get a win.
Anyway, Wednesday is an extremely important game for the boss and players. People on here may think that the CL is a pipe dream but with the boss so close to retirement he'll be desperate to add to his 2 CL wins and will take every chance to do that.
He said this weekend that the team he puts out today will be very different to the one he plays on Wednesday so don't be surprised if we even see Rooney, Rafael and Evra rested too.
Madrid is the priority

You know what SAF SHOULD play the strongest team possible... Premier League should be priority! RVP only had 45 minutes midweek, Carrick/Rio/Rafael a week off, Rooney can play three games in the space of a week. Going 12 points clear tomorrow would be MASSIVE in the grand scheme of the title race.

Merry, that may be the case but Sir Alex said on Friday that there will be two different teams for Everton and Madrid.
I guess today we'll have an idea what the Madrid team will be.

The league is the prority this year, without doubt.
But you've got to look at the situation. We're nine points clear with a game in hand, with an easier run in than our rivals.
And a few days later we play one of the best teams in the world in a competition we would all absolutely love to win.
The Madrid game takes priority, no 2 ways about it.

Mexican
Yeah, I doubt 11 different players. But 7 or 8 for sure.
A Lindegaard, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, Buttner, Anderson, Nani, Giggs, Young, Rooney, Hernandez team could beat Everton.
And put Rooney and Rafael in the Madrid game.

It'll still be a stronger side in Madrid so we're technically right!
