Will arsenal buy any more players?

Simple question. Despite all the transfer rumors that have come to nothing since the start of summer, as from today! will Arsenal buy anymore players this summer?

I'm gonna say....

Yes.

With a slight hint of desperate optimism to my voice.

Yes. Chairman Peter Hill-Wood is quoted today as saying the club are still looking; "to bring in a few players."

What does "few" mean? Three, six....?

The problem is there's no value in the transfer market. Look at United's 50 million spent on two unproven players and a player who looks good sometimes and quite mediocre at others. Modric valued by Spurs at 40m, Pastore at 45m euros, Downing at 20m ... where's the value in these players? All the Arsenal supporters complain but imo Wenger is right - imo, his only errors are that he keeps buying centre forwards instead of a keeper and defender. Shay Given would have been an excellent signing for Arsenal imo.

Dont you think Lionel Messi would have been an even better signing? Or maybe Pastore? Or De Gea?

Hmmm..what do you think?

I don't get your point. I've just said that these players are overpriced. Tell me how Phil Jones is worth 16m,or Cahill, Dann etc for that matter. De Gea may turn out to be a great keeper, but paying 17m for a young keeper is a huge risk and even Chelsea refused to pay more for Pastore and we all know they always pay over the odds for players. What I'm saying is that there is little value in the transfer market. Wenger is right to hold out for close to 40m for Cesc if Pastore is at 38m, it's ridiculous!

We will not be signing anymore players this summer unless Cesc leaves.

Nasri will stay and go on a free next summer like Flamini, Wenger seems to be yet again trying to get away with not buying quality replacements for players who have left.

I really do worry about our defence next season, it has got worse, not better, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielney, Gibbs and a young kid in goal with no decent back up is just asking for trouble.

Except instead of missing out on the title or cups due to stupid mistakes at the back, it will be missing out on a top 4 place.

Wenger needs to learn he can't get away with it anymore and he has to spend top money on top quality if we are to go anywhere other than in the steady decline we have been for the past 6 seasons.
