Luiz

What would you guys do with him a) for the rest of this season and b) long-term at Chelsea, in regards to where he plays?

I'm a big fan of Luiz, has a good attitude to the game, works hard, and is someone who can hold reopsnibilty and is confident in his ability - in other words a mindset that any player would need to be world class footballer. Not just that, he is of course a very good footballer, in many parts of the game. Interested to see how you think we should use him at Chelsea.

With Rafa we've seen a sample of Luiz in midfield. I don't believe Rafa would have done this if we had no injuries, and I also think if RDM stayed with the same options he also would have played Luiz in midfield, (or played Oscar in midfield)but I'm glad it has happened, as he has showed us what he can do, given us an option for..that option of Luiz in midfield.

For me, Luiz is one of the first names on the team-sheet, whether in defence or midfield, but for the rest of this season I am starting to think he should be used in midfield mostly. He was key in that counter-attack goal we scored against Wigan, and though his passing is sometimes erratic, he is capable of some very good hits. The same in regards to his shooting, can be woeful sometimes but it is not like he is not capable of a dangerous shot from 30 yards out. The energy and goal-threat he provides in midfield is matched only by Ramires, but Luiz is far more comfortable on the ball, and is capable of holding it in the final third.

Having said that, long-term at Chelsea I still his position as a CB. While I think he's a very good option for this current team at CM, I don't think he could ever be a world class midfielder, but he could definitely be a world class CB. We have some very good prospects coming through in midfield, with high ceilings than Luiz there - and Romeu will also be back next season. Also worth noting that Luiz can be a bit of a luxury in midfield sometimes, can perform well in games where everyone does well but struggles when against better teams.

What would you do with him?

He's currently a better CB than Cahill IMO

So I'd rather have Ivanovic-Luiz at CB with other midfield options than Ivanovic-Cahill with Luiz in midfield

I disagree. Cahill is the more solid CB of the two in my opinion.

Luiz is the better player of the two which is why he is better suited to midfield.

Get him out of midfield as soon as possible (start of next season) imo

Cahill has been so shaky. Luiz was ripped apart for similar performances during a bad run.

Always said he looked more suited to midfield and my spirits are lifted immediately when I see him being played there. He has great vision and is never afraid to try a few long forward passes even if most of them do not come off. I know he also gets knocked sometimes for having so many attempts at goal from stupid positions but I like to see it personally.

It is the one and only thing that I can give Rafa credit for, so pleeeeeease do not take that away from me.

Luiz and Lamps as the pair everytime for me

His ridiculously ambitious shooting really annoys me

That's probably the worst part of him in midfield

The best part is his high energy off the ball pressing which leads to lots of tackles and interceptions

His passing is still pretty inconsistent for me
