Rovers; threat or walkover?

Blackburn Rovers coing up Saturday in Round Five of the FA Cup. Are they a threat or will it just be a nice stroll in the park for the Mighty Arsenal?

I know next to nothing about them, other than they are doing quite well in the npower championship.

They've got the added disadvantage of playing away to Brighton tonight.

Is this an easy win for The Arsenal or another of those hideous banana skins waiting for us to underestimate the opposition and go slip, sliding out of the FA Cup?

That's all.

There's a couple of reasons I think we will win.

Firstly, their priority is the league, they want promotion badly and know they aren't going to win the FA Cup.

Secondly, we are at home. If we had to go to Ewood Park, I'd say it would be another tough one.

At home though, I think we'll be fine.

Hopefully we'll rest a couple of players, maybe bring in Miquel and one of Eisfield or Gnabry.

Pete

I wish I shared your bizarre sense of humour.

I think we'll win this relatively comfortably. Have to note though, we won't put on a strong side either. We'll have Bayern on the weekday so we need to keep our strongest lineup fresh.

I can see a few of next years hopefuls get a runout. Miquel and Gnabry are the obvious two, but i would love to see what Akpom and Bellerin could do.

I hope we win it, we are good at home in cup competitions. Plus it's realistically the only chance this season of winning a trophy!

Sadly Bellerin is injured, missed out last night and unlikely to be available for Saturday.
Miquel will have to start imo. He was poor last night, but needs game time and this seems the ideal opportunity.
Cannot see Gnabry or Akpom getting game time. We have the likes of Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gervinho who don't get many games and will be used before either Serge or Chubs.
Eisfeld is a mile away from deserving a start.

Maybe a couple will get on the bench but I don't see them getting on.

Oh. Right. So it'll be the Wenger 'rotation' system of playing the full strength side then!

I think we should rotate, but not enough to risk the performance and game.

Let's be honest, we *almost* certainly aren't going through in the CL, so whether we are 100% fit or 95% fit won't make too much difference.

I think we'll see

Szcz

Sagna
Miquel
Mert
Monreal

Arteta
Diaby
Ramsey

Oxo
Giroud
Podolski

Have a feeling we will struggle, our passing will be inconsistent, blackburn will defend deep and close us down quickly. Although if arsenal get an early goal it will be game over.

Should be a walk in the park, so....

Arsenal 1-2 Blackburn
