Since every man and his dog says no manager will want to manage Chelsea, conveniently ignoring the fact that Real has sacked managers for less but are still a top club.
But its usually the united fans who seem to think Fergie will never die.Lets wait and see what happens when Fergie leaves. It might even become painful to laugh at united.
Anyway coming to the subject of my post, Rikaards name used to be mentioned a lot when jobs became available but lately it has all gone quiet. Now in my opinion Rikaard is the best all round central midfielder europe has ever produced.Stunning player.Think Viera then think twice as good.
As a coach he has obvious limitations tactically but going forward he has managed teams that played some good stuff. The dutch team at Euro 2000 and the Barca team with Ronaldinho at his best.
He is by no means a poor manager. Its not like hiring Tony Pulis. If Roman could gamble on AVB, why not Rikaard.
For me despite poor return at some teams that he has gone to one thing with Rikaard if you give him the talent Chelsea has now he will produce a team that will play good football. His lack of tactical nouse is the reason why he hasnt been so successful at some of the smaller teams he has managed but he comes with experience and has coached in a number of countries.
I think he is worth a go.
How About Frank Rikaard?

, it's sad that he could so easily get under our skins as a rival manager to warrant that comment.

Steve Clarke back
remember him and Terry managed us to within 1 kick of the CL 5 years ago

I remember when Michael Emenalo lead us into a tailspin back in 2011 before triumphantly rising us up the league to 2nd place within one match against United on possibly winning the title. Trouble is i'm the only one

I think Rijkaard is the best man for the job personally, he would bring free flowing entertaining football to the bridge, the type of football Abramovic craves hence his obsession with Guardiola. Rijkaard won numerous trophies with barcelona and with the squad we have I see no reason why he cant do the same with us. I think our next manager would definitly be one of; Mourinho, Rijkaard or Pellegrini.

Frank got fired by Saudi Arabia for christs sake. Got out in the first round of the Gulf Cup which basically consists of some really crappy teams like Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait etc.

The only mistake they made was letting Terry have that kick instead of Clarke.

where you expecting him to turn Saudi Arabia into world cup winners, any manager would struggle without quality players. Saudi Arabia is a country he didnt get to sign quality players to improve he's squad.

The way chelsea board treat managers is very appeling to managers as they can get a huge pay day when roman sacks them rhink about jow mich it costs to sack a guy who has signed a contract 6 months prior. This isthe case of a average manager who is unable to get chelsea to peform athe other hand is that the any manager coming into the club will inherit a pretty amazing squad of players all they would need to do is get them to peform well and one or two players ro start challenging for trophies on all fronts e.g. what Ancelloti did
