The difference is Messi comes across as appreciating how lucky he is to have so much talent. Ronaldo comes across as thinking he deserves it and is the best thing since sliced bread, which he isnt because Messi is better. Well Messi is very lucky, he had growth hormone deficiency when La Masia decided to take a gamble on him, most other clubs would have dismissed him immediately. And Ronaldo does deserve his talent, he has worked incredibly hard throughout his whole life to get where he is and deserves everything he gets.

I don't really think many people dislike Ronaldo anymore. Maybe in spain but he's been gone for so long he's now just entertainment in a league few of us actually watch other than el classico.
