This is a straw man argument. To attempt to use this as an argument against evolution is a fallacy. Evolution doesn't attempt to explain the origin of cells or life. It explains how a vast array of species came to be from original single celled organisms.

There are theories on how 'life' began, last I checked Abiogenesis was the most widely believed but there isn't strong evidence to support any yet, I think. However, being unable to answer this is in no way a detraction to evolution.

I haven't detracted from evolution. I believe in evolution within the species, we see it every single day.

What I do not believe is that life decided to happen on its own and a fish decided to become a turtle or something else.

That is just something that I will never believe.

If anything he is making it harder for gay players still in the game because the implication is that if you are gay you have to "step away from the game".
