Yeah, We Need A New Manager

I've always defended Wenger to the hilt; he's a brilliant manager doing the best he can with his resources, he's a master at signing players and because of Wenger we'll always punch above our financial weight by challenging against monied up, impure, money laundering scams/football clubs. Wenger was absolutely necessary for Arsenal's, at least, short to mid term ambition...

Since living in Las Vegas for more than a year and no longer immersed in football culture, and living in a time zone that makes watching live matches too much of an effort (i work and don't have time for 7am games), i've found myself able to look at the club with fresher eyes. A couple of facts are now clear to me..

Now i see that we are, and have been for a while, a feeder club. We're a springboard to better things because we have too negative an attitude to win anything. It's ironic that we're one of the most negative teams out there.

Wenger has a defeatist attitude, his confidence is shot and it's been showing in the team for a while. Our best players left us in their prime, they practically ran out the door but i was convinced Wenger had the dressing room.

Wenger won't spend reasonable money because if he does then expectations will increase, and he doesn't deep down believe he can deliver on them. His only game now is the economic one and if he loses that with a pricey risk on the transfer market that doesn't produce a net profit for Arsenal then he's finished. We know this is the only thing keeping him in the job. Is it good enough? Not anymore for me.

Arsenal deserve better than this, any reasonable consideration of the future does not include Arsenal winning trophies with a smiling Arsene Wenger. It's over. I believe Wenger may be burned out.
But Arsenal aren't, it's time for a change.

Swish mate, hows life in the states treating ya? I've considered it but the thought of just upping sticks and leaving freaks me out

Great article that deserves more comments. I suspect you're right about Wenger being a defeatist although I'm a bit worried that the gung-ho capitalist nature of the USA might be rubbing off on you.
