Alba's Marathon Training Run Today

Afternoon All

Well, today I broke the 30km barrier for the first time. I started out at Geneva Cornavin station, ran through Versoix and Coppet (known round these parts as the centre of the universe ), before reaching Nyon - home of UEFA - where Neil Lennon had asked me to drop off a DVD to Michel Platini. Shared a nice cuppa with with the man himself, but apparently it's no dice (any other team apart from Juve, he said - he reckons he has history with them...). Bl00dy Frogs....

From there it was up past Gland (stop sniggering at the back, there!!) to Rolle, which is the town where I work - and, today, the place where my legs stopped talking to me. Took some photos of the run to post to the just giving site, but the file are too big . Unless anyone can tell me how to compress the files (zipping hasn't worked - double ), I'll take some more next week, when I'll be following the same route and make sure the files are small enough before deleting them from my iphone.

Again, as I'm punishing myself for this damn race, I like to share the love by asking you to donate to my cancer research charity site (only if you can spare a few shekels, obviously) - http://www.justgiving.com/Stevie-Black

I'm now off to make up with my legs, I've promised them a nice hot Radox bath .

Thanks again everyone - a lot of you guys have already donated to me, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it - A roll of honour will be going up here when I've finally got through this.

Admin - would appreciate you multiboarding this again, to include our Arab friends from Tannadice. I owe you a pint mate.

Guys and girls, you are all fantastic. CG - muchas gracias. Zach & Lauders, are you running a dodgy life insurance scam on the side??..... better watch out for the garlic snails the night before, or something like that?..

On a similarly scary note, it seems that my donationd have now totalled The Number Of The Beast
Think I'll have to chuck a couple of quid in myself, just to calm the omens!!!

Alba that was my fault all the very best - you have some amount of running to do to get to the optimum distance of about 23 miles completed before a marathon - allowing for the rest period and gentle running 2 weeks before the marathon and. btw no I am not a runner by my man is as are lots of my friends

Great stuff Stevie.

I'll forward a donation.

I did the Glasgow Marathons 1982 - 85.

Only seems like 30 years ago as well.
