Heard last week(from a glenman) that Patterson chose us over the Glens because we were more proffesional in our efforts to get him,by all accounts the Glens just assumed he would automatically sign for them and basically told him they would see him at training to sort things, the Glens are now trying to save face by saying we offered him more money(the cheek of them £900 a week for Gary Hamilton) we met with Patterson & he was impressed by what was put to him plain & simple

Truth is we approached Hamilton to sign him before Rory Patterson became available, but he refused the wages offered on our capped salary.
Hamilton would rather take the pay he is on at the Glens and not play again this season
Lucky escape for the Blues as with the very worrying health problems with Peter Thompson they were looking for another striker. Pattersons signing could not have been better timed.
We couldnt afford Kelbies wages either.

Heard that we were in for Hamilton myself Earl, like you say though we may of had a lucky escape, from the Glenmen that I know they say Hamilton is a bad influence in the changing room, also shows you the type of person he is that he would rather take the money & do nothing than take a wage cut & play regular 1st team football with a chance of winning trophies
