Worth it? Think I can get it for about a tenner.
I really just want a fighting game, and I adored Tekken 5 back in the day.
What about online? Is that any good? Can you go online if it's pre-owned?

Care to offer a reason why not RTM ??
my bad on that I should have said "In My Opinion"
But for me MK9 is the best Fighter I have played this Gen as it has a decent storyline and a solid Combat system that requires more skill to pull off Combos unlike MK3/Trilogy were you could just run up or jump into a combo with ease
Tekken 6 was a bad let down when comparing it to Tekken 5
Just like Street Fighter X Tekken was a bad let down to Super Street Fighter 4
For me my Rank of Fighting games This Gen goes like this
1. MK9
2.Super Street Fighter II HD REMIX
3.Tekken 5
4. Fight Night Round 4
5.SSF IV
6.Ultimate MK3
7.Street Fighter X Tekken
8. Tekken 6
9. Virtua Fighter 5

I was a big fan of Tekken on PS1. A great game, it was. Decided to get Tekken 6 last year for PS3. Absolutely awful. Played it twice and it never saw daylight again.

Certainly. Virtua Fighter 5 final showdown has one of the most basic yet deep fighting systems available. In fact I would say there is no deeper. The sheer amount of moves per fighter along with their different styles can make for great fights.
Games like Mortal Kombat or Street fighter generally have you going back to the same 6-10 moves which are strongest. Or, even worse, endless combos. Which is part of the reason I find Tekken so boring. Combos are nice. Ending a round from the start with one combo is not.
Virtua Fighter is not for the general gamer/fighter. It takes loads of effort and practice. I find this latest version to be the best yet.
