Arshavin

Hi!
I understand, that our team plays much much better without Arshavin, but anyway, what's going on with him?

He's paid about 80/90k a week to turn up for training a couple of times. Nice work if you can get it.

His contract is up this summer, where he'll have to find a new club and somehow scrape a living earning a lot less tha he's creamed out of Arsenal for the last few years.

The guy was a superstar when you bought him, you broke him

He was great. But a combination of him being played out of position, personal problems (he split up with his wife) and lack of form (both points previous contributed) were his downfall.

I don't think Arsenal 'broke him', I think he ruined himself. He was offered other moves but turned them down because he was /is on big money at Arsenal. Rather than take a wage cut (he's rich already) and try and start again and kickstart his career, he chose to sit on the bench (he sometimes does not even make the squad) and collect his money.

Moist, he didn't want to leave because he is settled in London. Even when he went to Zenit, his family stayed back in London. Have you forgotten he took a huge pay cut to join us in the first place? Don't try and make this whole thing about money.

Batman, he actually split up with his wife. She got with some London millionaire, allegedly he had a personal meltdown, that's why he took the loan move back home. But I won't speculate on his personal life anymore than that...

When he joined the club, his agent did not realise the full implications of the wrath of the Taxman in the UK and within a week his contract was renogotiated. I can't remember the intricacies, but a lot of red tape was cut through to offer him an altered deal where he got his money (obviously paying tax) but not on a standard contract.

Making it about money? Well fair enough. All I'm saying is, he's on a big money contract and was offered chances at clubs to 'start again' all be it on lower wages. He didn't want to, that's his will and his liberty. But it just does not sit well with me.
