Mertesacker is also blamed by the media for the other goals despite doing not much wrong. He is the default scapegoat for anything that goes wrong at Arsenal.

Look at the midfield... TV had no help at all and was constantly doubled up on. What hope can he have?
Same with the CBs, very little protection from those in front of them.
We mark zonal at corners because we have no-one dominant in the air. Thus the players feel it is better to mark the areas rather than the man. Takes away the individual blame.
