At the moment, he sees Valencia, one of Spain’s top teams and an established Champions League outfit, as a superior side to Spurs, who dropped out of the top four last season following their first-ever qualification for European football’s premier club competition the year before.

Even though this was probably from goal.com you can pretty much believe why a player like him doesn't want to go to an average club like spurs.

You can offer him "one of the best coaches in the world", generous pay, Champions League football....and yet he still prefers to stay at Valencia. Arsneal are going backwards!
