Lets be totally honest here, what were CFC thinking of when they brought Benitez in, God only knows. Good managers are not out of work for 2 years and this guy was, what does that tell you.
It's well before time to get him out and Holland in, surely we can't get much worse.
I put up an article nearly 4 weeks ago and it is as true now as it was then.
I repeat below.
QUOTE
CFC are at a very dangerous crossroads in our lives. It will go one of two ways.
We either finally get the right manager in and everything back on an even keel and start challenging again for all comps as we had before or we become and I say this with no offence to either club, or we become exactly like Liverpool & Spurs ie a team that sits on the peripheral edge of the top 4 but never just quite making it or shall I say might win an FA cup or capital one cup or make top 4 every now and then.
We really are at that stage in my opinion. Regarding the Europa, the sooner we go out the better, strange comment for a CFC fan but you can all see how thin we are, we could end up with injuries because of it and FA cup comps and basically end up with nothing. If we do not get a top 4 finish what will that mean for signings next summer, will top players want to join with no Euro cup, you have seen this happen at other clubs, many players have said I would have joined if they had had euro placing etc.
I really really do believe we are at a very very decisive point at this time and come towards end of the season.
We keep saying CFC next manager appointment has to be the right one, well that day has finally come. The next appointment could basically decide our future for the next 3 years maybe more

BENITEZ OUT NOW, HOLLAND TILL END OF SEASON

I'm losing the will to persist with him even till the end of the season, his appointment has turned us into the kind of fanbase i regularly belittle at other clubs. The genius is, should we fail to get 4th under any interim interim manager, barring that individual being Winston Bogarde it would still have been Benitez's fault

Scary thing is Roman does have an option in a former target whose found himself out of work since November, who like Benitez would see it as an opportunity to put himself back on the map.......
Mr. Interim Interim Frank Rijkaard

Bridge - you've got it spot on. Jose gave us a fantastic foundation so that the next manager could take up the reins and make us a credible world power. All that has crumbled away like a handful of sand. And glorious though they were, Carlo's double and Robbie CL triumph fooled hardly anyone on this forum.
So now is there anyone out there who can retrieve the situation and give us some energy, direction, inspiration and stability?
